SINGING FOR DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN
It is said that children are the hope of the nation. Yet, almost everyday, we read, hear or see in television news stories about children being abused, exploited, neglected or abandoned. Something needs to be done to help these unfortunate children, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues to do its part by implementing programs and projects designed to improve the lives of these children.

The DSWD conceptualized a special project dubbed as “Sing For Me, A Call for Peace and Unity,” a simultaneous community singing featuring various choral groups for the benefit of disadvantaged children, such as the abused, exploited, neglected, abandoned, orphaned children; as well as those caught in armed conflict, victims of disasters, and children in conflict with the law.

Social Welfare and Development Secretary Esperanza I. Cabral explained that the “Sing For Me” project will mobilize all sectors to generate funds for the construction of ‘Mga Bahay Pag-Asa’ in the country and support the programs for disadvantaged children.
